Women's Ministry:

Our Women’s Ministry here at Lakewood, known as “Lakewood Ladies,” is one that provides women of all ages with an opportunity for fellowship and friendship.  We understand that the worship service alone is not enough time to nurture meaningful relationships with one another.    

Once a month, we enjoy a “Lakewood Ladies’ Gathering” which is hosted in homes of the women who attend Lakewood.  These are the times we can strengthen our friendships and gain encouragement through a time of devotions, a topic of interest, prayer, and refreshments.  Some of the other annual activities and events that we enjoy together include a women’s retreat designed for renewal and spiritual growth, the Women of Faith conferences, and most recently-hosting a Beth Moore Simulcast.   

One of the important aspects of our ministry is the ability to bless others throughout the year.  We have an annual yard sale in which we raise money to help families during the Christmas season who may be struggling financially.  In addition, we have “adopted” a family to bless throughout the year.  We also organize special “drives” to raise supplies or finances needed to help with various community organizations such as the women’s shelter, etc.
